In 1955, the Kresovic family began operating a 22-bed skilled care home on the corner of 6th and Lapham in Milwaukee. As the need for additiona senior care services in the community became apparent, the family decided to expand its operations. In January of 1971, Cameo Care Center opened on South 27th Street (Hwy 41) in Milwaukee with 112 beds to provide skilled care in a family, home-like environment. Over the past decades, the long term care needs of the elderly and the sick have changed. The need for alternatives other than skilled nursing care was recognized by the family. As such, the family decided to expand Cameo Care Campus to assisted living. In May 2006 Cameo Court opened with 20 assisted living units.
Everything we do at Cameo Care Campus is based on building a continuum of care to provide the support residents need to live full and satisfying lives, while helping them maintain their independence and dignity.
